How to Use the STALEKS Straight Gel Brush

Step 1: Prepare the Natural Nails

Begin with proper nail preparation. Clean and shape the nails, gently remove nonliving cuticle from the nail plate, and lightly buff the surface if required by your gel system.

Remove nail dust and cleanse or dehydrate the nail plate according to the gel manufacturer's instructions.

Apply primer and base gel if required, curing each product as directed.

Step 2: Pick Up the Gel Product

Using the straight gel brush, collect a small, controlled amount of builder gel or another compatible gel product.

Avoid overloading the bristles, as excessive gel can make application difficult and cause flooding around the sidewalls.

Step 3: Apply Gel Near the Cuticle

Position the brush near the cuticle area without allowing gel to touch the surrounding skin.

Use the straight edge of the bristles to gently guide the gel close to the cuticle line, creating a clean, precise application.

Keep the brush nearly parallel to the nail surface and apply minimal pressure for smoother distribution.

Step 4: Spread the Gel Evenly

Using light, controlled strokes, guide the gel from the cuticle area toward the free edge.

Allow the flat surface of the bristles to glide gently over the product rather than pressing firmly against the nail.

This technique helps create an even gel layer while minimizing visible brush marks.

Step 5: Refine the Sidewalls & Nail Shape

Use the straight corners of the brush to carefully distribute gel along the sidewalls and refine the application.

For builder gel applications, control the product placement to maintain the desired nail structure and apex.

Use gentle floating movements to smooth the gel surface without disturbing the underlying structure.

Step 6: Self-Level & Cure

Allow the gel to self-level according to the manufacturer's directions.

Inspect the nail from different angles to ensure that the product is evenly distributed and does not contact the skin.

Cure using a compatible UV/LED nail lamp for the exact time recommended by the gel manufacturer.

Repeat the application if additional thickness or structure is needed.

Step 7: Finish the Manicure

After curing, remove the inhibition layer if required by your gel system.

Refine the nail shape, apply gel color if desired, and finish with a compatible top coat.

Cure according to the product instructions for a smooth, glossy, professional-looking finish.

Best Applications for a Straight Gel Brush

Builder Gel Application

Ideal for distributing builder gel across the nail plate and refining the surface of structured gel enhancements.

Natural Nail Overlays

Helps create smooth, even gel overlays to reinforce natural nails without unnecessary product buildup.

Gel Nail Extensions

Useful for controlled gel placement and smoothing during nail extension services performed with forms or tips.

Precise Cuticle Application

The straight brush edge allows technicians to apply gel close to the cuticle line while maintaining a clean perimeter.

Gel Surface Refinement

Flexible synthetic fibers help smooth gel surfaces and minimize brush marks before curing.

How to Clean & Care for Your STALEKS Gel Brush

Proper brush maintenance helps preserve bristle flexibility, shape, and performance.

Remove Excess Gel: After use, gently wipe excess uncured gel from the bristles using a lint-free wipe.
Clean With a Compatible Brush Cleaner: Use a professional cleaning solution specifically formulated for gel brushes and compatible with synthetic bristles.
Avoid Harsh Solvents: Do not expose the brush to acetone, harsh chemicals, or aggressive cleaning solutions that may damage the bristles.
Reshape the Bristles: Gently bring the bristles back into their original straight, flat shape after cleaning.
Protect From UV/LED Exposure: Keep the brush away from direct sunlight and UV/LED curing lamps to prevent residual gel from hardening inside the bristles.
Store Properly: Store horizontally or in a protective brush case in a clean, dry location.

Important: Use only manufacturer-approved cleaning and disinfection procedures. Do not place the gel brush in an autoclave or dry-heat sterilizer unless the manufacturer specifically authorizes that method.
